Using Hypotheses
You may use Hypotheses to explore, document, test, and review ideas and decisions. You must provide accurate account information, safeguard your account, and use the service lawfully. You may not probe, disrupt, overload, or bypass access controls, or use the service to infringe rights, distribute malware, harass others, or publish unlawful content.
Open-source code
The source code published in the Hypotheses GitHub repository is licensed under the MIT License. That license applies to the published software, not to user content, private workspace data, service credentials, third-party marks, or an entitlement to operate against the hosted production service.
Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Hypotheses a limited license to host, process, reproduce, and display that content only as needed to provide and improve the service. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions required to submit content. Marking a hypothesis public authorizes us to make it available through the website and public plugin tools.
Public contributions and comments are attributable to your community profile. Evidence must distinguish firsthand experience, external sources, and analysis honestly. Do not fabricate evidence, impersonate a person, expose confidential information, manipulate engagement, or coordinate harassment. Unlisted links are not access-control credentials and should be shared only with intended recipients.
Community safety and moderation
You may follow public work, block accounts, and report profiles or content. We may review reports, hide or remove content, restrict interaction, suspend accounts, and preserve moderation records when reasonably necessary to enforce these terms, protect users, or comply with law. Reporting does not guarantee removal, and misuse of reporting tools may itself lead to restrictions. Contact support if you believe a moderation action or copyright decision requires review.
Authorized connectors
Private connector tools act with the permissions granted by the signed-in account. You are responsible for reviewing requested scopes, capture previews, and write confirmations. Hypotheses will not treat an AI-generated draft as saved until the authorized save tool succeeds. You can disconnect a client at any time, but disconnecting does not delete records you previously approved.
AI-assisted output
AI-generated summaries and suggestions may be incomplete or incorrect. Hypotheses is a decision-support tool, not a substitute for professional, legal, medical, financial, or safety-critical judgment. Review important evidence and decisions before acting on them.
Availability and changes
The service may change, experience interruptions, or discontinue features. We may suspend access to protect users, enforce these terms, or comply with law. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate material changes that affect active users.
Disclaimers and liability
Hypotheses is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
